Who's Who

Here is a little info on the current members of Credo.

I'm Cathy. I founded Credo in 1996 with a bunch of friends who wanted to explore aspects of faith and life through devised theatre. We said we'd keep doing it as long as we were having fun and 20 years later Credo is still going!! When I'm not Credo-ing I work in community development and I'm married with 4 children. My favourite things about Credo? Well, I'd say it's the community we share and the theatre we perform - which is cheating really cos that covers pretty much everything, but it's true to say that Credo has given me many of my best moments and memories over the past 2 decades.
I'm Melanie and I'm a Legal Officer with Hull City Council. I'm married to Nigel and have two children - Sophie & Josh. I joined Credo to get involved with the Jubilee 2000 campaign and after seeing Credo do an "eighties night" and wanting to be part of it. That was about 20 years ago! Credo and the friends I've made through it are a huge and valuable part of my life.
I'm John. I work as a medical physicist with Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals, as well as being churchwarden of St Columba's Church. I joined Credo to help with the Jubilee 2000 campaign last millennium, and since then have enjoyed performing, making props, costumes, sound effects, and chipping in on script writing. I'm currently treasurer and one of the trustees of Credo.
I'm Leonie. I have lived in Hull for 9 years. I do a mixture of jobs at the moment. I have done a dance degree. I came into contact with Credo Arts about three years ago and I love being part of this family. It is packed with love and realness. Coming together for rehearsals is such a laugh. It's brilliant how we are all from different walks but have the same faith and passion for the arts.
I'm Virginia. I joined Credo in 2001 after enjoying their Red Nose Comic Relief night at Haworth Arms in Hull. It felt like I could put my faith in God and my love of drama and laughter to good use, working together with them and showing others that having faith in God is not just serious but real, with humour sadness and all life gives us. The community of Credo is fantastic, diverse and loving. It anchors my soul.
I'm Julie and I trained at the London College of Dance & Drama. I am married to Tony and have two daughters, Jessica and Alisha. I work part time for a Building Surveyors. I joined Credo after my vicar at the time bought me a ticket for a Credo performance, "A brick in the Wall". Eighteen years later, Credo is my extended family, with whom I share laughter and tears, performing theatre, taking that theatre to other people and their communities, producing special memories.
I'm Helen and married to David. At the moment I am a mental health nurse but I will be retiring soon which will bring more opportunities for David and I to go cycling and walking. There will be more holidays that will involve travelling to different parts of the world. I also look for ward to spending more time with our children and grandchildren. Obviously I will stay involved with Credo. I joined Credo just over 10 years ago because I was excited at the prospect of sharing my Christian faith through drama. What I have found is that as well as performing I gain so much from our thought-provoking discussions and good fun.
